The magic that is said to surround CBD oil ✨

CBD is everywhere at the moment.

From oils and teas to full blown Kardashian-style baby showers. Its already everywhere at the moment yet is sure to only get more popular still.

So what is CBD?

It is extracted from hemp plants that contain low levels of THC.

Hemp is amazing and has been used for centuries for its healing qualities.

It is a complete source of protein, containing amino acids - the building blocks for strong bones, tissue and skin - as well as being rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 which are said to prevent inflammation, balance hormones and maintain heart rate.

Iron, magnesium and zinc are also found in hemp making it such a unique source of fantastic nutrients.

As some of you will know, the name CBD is shortened from Cannabidiol. The non-psychoactive substance of CBD is said to give you all of the same advantages as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) without getting you stoned.

The marijuana plant itself contains THC, but industrial hemp has almost no THC and instead has CBD. These two substances activate the same receptors in our brains, but not to the same level. That’s why after taking CBD most people end up feeling relaxed but they without the same effect of being “high.”

Both types of cannabinoid stimulate the production of dopamine and serotonin, which might explain why for some people, taking CBD may be useful for managing issues like anxiety and stress.

The main three ways to take CBD currently on the market are Oils, Isolates and Wax. Personally I prefer the oil as its so versatile and can be added to juices, smoothies, cooking and even when baking so if the taste of the oil isn’t up your street – there are many different options that you can add it to to mask the taste.

Its not 100% proven and set in stone, as tests haven’t been undertaken for long enough just yet, but research has shown that CBD has the potential to relieve:

  • day-to-day stress and anxiety

  • general aches and pains

  • chronic pain, particularly if it’s associated with inflammation

  • pain from auto-immune conditions such as fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel disease, and arthritis

  • improved sleep

  • mild depression

  • nausea and lack of appetite

  • blood glucose control

  • acne

  • eczema and dry skin

It is said to be that our body’s endocannabinoid system naturally produces cannabinoids similar to CBD, therefore consuming CBD can help to supplement deficiencies created when your body cannot produce enough of what is needed.

Although cannabidiol oil is a natural component of the hemp plant, some people have said to have experienced side effects from taking CBD. If you have too much, you may experience dry mouth, low blood pressure, dizziness or even depression.

I (That Veggie Place) have no intention to create the impression that I can diagnose, treat illnesses and/ or heal diseases. Unfortunately I’m no doctor so if you have any uncertainty, a serious health problem or are taking medications, be sure consult your doctor before trying CBD.
